Nature Folk Alderney

Our previous clients from Nature Folk Studio approached us to design its second location of their expanding business. Now, its new location is situated in a historic building, which served as the city hall for Dartmouth in its past life. The building's waterfront access served both as a scenic location and a popular area that receives much public engagement.

Drawing inspiration from the building’s iconic circular council chamber, the new space reflected its curves throughout the design. These curves softened circulation paths and influenced the custom millwork, enhancing the overall flow and aesthetic of the space. The council chamber was repurposed as the central hub for the spa’s thermal cycle, featuring a range of facilities including saunas, hot tub, cold plunge, cold shower, and resting areas.

The building serves as an excellent home for this urban spa, preserving its mid-century and brutalist features as it breathes new life into the building.
